If you book in time, you can find five star Hotels in the center of Budapest for less than £70 the night, with easy access to cheap but high quality restaurants, pubs, theaters, shopping malls and of course lots of spas and thermal baths.

You can buy a pint of beer for  £1  or a Big Mac burger for £1.80. You could also get an Aroma massage (30 minutes) for only £12, a foot massage for an average of £6 or just take a journey ticket for bathing in the terms for less than £10.

But Budapest is not only a place where you can take care of yourself and your wallet: Summer temperature can easily reach 35 °C, to make it a perfect place to walk around, meet local people, be amazed by beautiful historical places, or by one of its 223 museums, or enjoy a fresh drink.

On the Castle Hill is located the historical Buda Castle, one of the World Heritage Sites, built in 1265. During the time it eventually has then been partly destroyed, rebuilt, renovate and enlarged in order to house generations of Hungarian kings.

But if you do end up in Budapest in the first week of April, visit Nagykata for a day or two to experience the town’s best. Every first week of April, the town is transformed into a festive area wherein you can easily enjoy the local food and wine.

Just stay in safe areas in the city or in your beach resort so that you don’t have to experience the horror and only experience fun under the sun.
