You are going to get the best exchange rate when using the ATM, opposed to the other ways to convert your money. Not only that, but remember that Europe is full of low to no cost entertainment to be a part of. In fact, there are many days when you can visit the local museums for free or see a free public concert. Many people travelling to Europe also like to make lunch their â€œbigâ€ meal. That is because you are going to find a lot of the same dishes that are full price at dinner, half price at lunch. Also, do not be afraid to ask locals where the authentic restaurants are. These tend to be less expensive.

The Germans have a lot of cities to be proud of and one of these cities is Munich. As the capital of Bavaria, Munich has a thousand and one reasons why you should be there. But instead of naming these places, there is only one celebration that you should know and have it on your autumn agenda (starting with next year): Oktoberfest. Emulated but never rivaled, the original Oktoberfest happens in Munich. The city is transformed and tourists from different parts of the country come here to enjoy the festivities that will last for more than two weeks.

But if you want to have something thatâ€™s also appropriate for the kids, you can visit different castles, museums and enjoy an opera show.

There are also tours that can let you enjoy Munich. Of course, there are traditional tours where you can enjoy the best places of Munich. But there are two unique guided tours that will give out the best of Munich â€“ on the water and by bike. If you opt to go on a small cruise around the city, you can go around Munich in a boat and have a great view of the surroundings. Explore a whole European country by train, Â£25-Â£90

My fondest memories of travel from when I was a child are on the vagon-lit, the sleeper car, with the large bunk beds suspended from the wall by thick cables covered in faded velvet. It was like being on the Orient Express, all the wood panelling, the little sink and the wardrobe. However, it was not an economic way to travel and was soon done away with. But I still have a warm place in my heart for train travel.

So I was checking out one of the most popular ways to travel by train, InterRail, cursing myself that I didnâ€™t take advantage of it while I was a student and had more free time. Looking through their website I discovered their One Country Pass.

It functions similarly to the regular InterRail ticket. You hold a pass that allows you to board trains in one particular country for a certain number of days (3, 4, 6 or 8 ) within 1 month of the beginning of your journey. This gives you a great chance to explore several cities in one country and really take in the sites. It does require a bit of planning if you want to travel cheap and with some semblance of comfort, as you should find the places you want to visit, the hotel, B&B, or hostel where you are going to stay and check if you will be using any of the special trains (usually high speed). Kids also get 50% off on 1^st and 2^nd class tickets.

I wouldnâ€™t mind travelling around the Czech Republic or Spain for 10 days with my girlfriend in the first class carriage, seeing as 3 days of travel would only set my back 66 euro or 147 euro respectively. These tickets also provide you with further discounts to museums and other attractions. The best way to travel, enjoy the view and take in the sites without being trapped in one city the whole time. In fact if you like one city so much, just spend a couple of extra days there. The ticket lasts for a whole month.
