Cheap cultural attractions in Berlin

There are tons of reasons why you should go to Berlin. However, one reason why a lot of people end up going there is to see all of its museums. There are a few things to keep in mind before you go visit the museums in Berlin.

First of all, most of the Berlin museums actually charge admission for anyone that is over the age of 16. Most of the time, the cost for a ticket is about €6 to €8, but this varies depending on the museum itself. Just like other museums around the world, discounts are given to students. They tend to get 50% off the ticket price; however, they do have to show identification. If you go to a state museum, then they will grant you free entrance whether you’re a student or not.

The first museum on our list is the Museumsinsel Museum. This actually stands for the Museum Island. This museum is best known for its vast collection of ancient Greek and Middle Eastern art. From there you may want to check out the Deutsches Historisches Museum. This is a museum that has artifacts that cover everything from pre-history to present day. This is one of the best museums in all of Berlin.

After that you can head over to the Judisches Museum. This is a Jewish museum that will teach you about the history of Jews in Germany. If you are looking for great paintings, then you have to go check out the Gemaldegalerie museum. They have tons of paintings that range from the 13th to the 18th century.

Berlin has a lot of great museums, and they are all worth checking out. However, it is best if you can check out about one museum a day. It is not a good idea to rush through them and try to do more than one a day. You will end up missing out on a lot of things.

Flights to Berlin start from £57. Cheap hostel accommodation from eur 9 (almost as much as you pay for the museums, but you can’t sleep in a museum unless you’re a mummy or some kind of relic with historical importance).

  1. I like history very much and Berlin always fascinated me from a historical point of view. The capital was ruled until 1918 by members of the Hohenzollern family.
The underground area of Berlin is dominated by kilometers of tunnels and hundreds of bunkers can be found in this city. The remainings from the Nazi-era cannot be visited easily though, because they were flooded by water throughout time.

The visitor of Berlin should also know that the biggest train station opened in Berlin 3 years ago and the biggest department store KaDeWe (for the shopaholic traveller in you) is to be found in Berlin as well. Don’t get lost in its 60,000 sq meters…
