Cozumel Carnival in Mexico

The Cozumel Carnival is Mexico’s version of Mardi Gras Festival. The people of Cozumel celebrate their festival 3 days before Ash Wednesday and they celebrate it with a bang.

It’s one wild carnival and many tourists come here to experience the party. It’s fun and very entertaining that you just can’t help yourself from dancing. You’ll hear the drums from far away and as you get closer, your excitement will just be too overpowering as you hear the drums beat louder and louder. They play different types of music all at the same time depending on where you are as different bands play along the whole time.

The Cozumel festival is a colorful festival. There are street parades, street dancing, amazing and colorful costumes and of course, street carnivals. The world seems to stop moving during this festival and people here stopped worrying about work or their own life’s problems and they all unite to celebrate and just have fun.

It seems like the entire community participate in the festival. The schools and clubs are having their own busy schedule while they prepare for their costumes or their floats and the dancers are busy preparing for their street dance. There is of course a competition and the best in the event would win a great prize! This way, many would join every year and would keep on joining to aim for that prize while, at the same time, making it a lot of fun for everybody else.
