Things to do in Amsterdam with 12 euros (or less)

If you plan to go to Amsterdam, here are some tips of interesting things you can do there, paying less.

Visit Heineken Museum, provided that you are over 18 because you will taste some samples (beer and cheese) and will leave the museum with a free gift.
Heineken Museum is located inside Heinken Brewery which was opened in 1930. You will understand the brewery process and will learn other interesting facts about beer. The activity is fun and affordable; 1 ticket costs 11 euros.
You can pay 10 euros for a bicycle and use it the whole day. The city is  bicycle-friendly and you get the chance to see much more of it  with a bike.

Visit Van Gogh Museum. The ticket is 12.50 euros for an adult (less for teenagers and children). You can buy tickets online for various exhibitions taking place at the museum. It has the biggest collection of Van Gogh’s work in the whole world.

Visit Anne Frank Museum. The place used to be Anne Frank’s hiding place (together with her family). The building is now a museum and is located in the centre of Amsterdam. The ticket fee is 8 euros for an adult, 4 euros for a teenager.
Enter a coffee shop, sit down and relax. It is a good opportunity to observe the city moving around you. Along with coffee you can have cannabis or magic mushrooms.

Go to Vondelpark. The park used to be the meeting place for hippies in the 60s and 70s, but now you can find there all sorts of people: teenagers, aged people, football players, street artists or tourists. You cand drop a coin in a street artist’s hat or reward some nice performance.

Visit Rijksmuseum. It is like Louvre and with 10 euros you can buy a ticket and see The Masterpieces – a huge collection from the Golden Age. You can see them all in one place.
If you are passioned by art you can admire works of art by Johannes Lutma, Cornelis Wieringen, Bartholomeus Helst, Ferdinand Bol or Rembrandt.
Paying only 7,50 euros you can enjoy a canal cruise. Many boats can be found around central station or near big commercial centres.

Visit the Red Light District. The place is a must-see for adults, but it is not a good place for children. It is best to visit it during the day, because at night it gets crowded. Window “shopping” won’t cost you anything.
