People love to travel around the world and go to places where they have never been before. The only problem is, when you travel to an area that you have never been before, you can fall victim to scams. These scams can cost you a ton of money and turn a cheap vacation into one that costs a lot! Today we are going to cover some of the most used European scams that people try to pull over on tourists.
The first thing to watch out for is the “slow count.†This is something that you have to watch out for at stores and at banks. A lot of times, places, mostly those that thrive with tourists, will count back money with long, oddly placed pauses. Their goal is to get you to grab up your money before they are done counting it back to you. This happens a lot, because tourists are in a hurry all the time to see and do everything. So always be careful when you are paying with large bills.
The next thing that you have to watch out for is the pick pockets. These are things that you watch out for a lot anyway, but they are always coming up with new ways to pick your pockets without you ever knowing about it. Right now, the newest way to pick someone’s pockets is to spill something on them, and then start dabbing away, trying to clean it up. Meanwhile they are giving loads of apologies and you become so shocked by what’s going on that you never even notice their hands reaching into your pockets.

Good advice for sure. As someone who spent 26 years or so working in a Bank until redundancy struck 10 years back I am paranoid where my cash is concerned and always and I mean always count the cash given to me by a cashier/teller.
Because they work behind the desk does not mean thay are not human and they too make honest mistakes and can miscount unintentionally just as easily as intentionally.
So my advice is to always count your cash in front of the cashier before moving away even when you are using your own bank branch at home, not just when you are in foreign parts.
