I found visiting the Vatican about lunch time the cues wernt as long, but you do need a hat and sunblock as theres no shade wile you wait and you'll see alot of red faces around Roma. But once your inside its nice and cool. If you really want to visit in the morning....go hours early or bring something to do wile you wait.
