UK holidays on the cheap with Sykes Cottages

Due to the current economic conditions, people will avoid going abroad on holidays and start thinking about rediscovering the UK.
England has lots of touristic attractions to offer for those who want to explore them. Let’s take for example The Lake District and its National Park. It is one of few mountainous regions in the UK and in the 19th century it was famous for its poets. The Lake District National Park has very impressive scenery and an important wildlife habitat. The forests are populated by the native red squirrel and in the various lakes you can find crayfish, charr, schelly and vendace. So if you want to go fishing, it is the right place.

Renting a cottage in Lake District can save you money, especially if you are with a larger group of friends or family. A 5-bedroom cottage in a small fishing village costs £414 per week to rent during winter or £925 in peak season and it can accommodate 12 people. It would cost you as little as £34 per person.

Add some food and drink and you are still in the £60-£70 region for a week’s holiday, which is extremely cheap by any standards. Some cottages are pet-friendly so that you can enjoy your holiday with your furry friends. The cottage has a small library with books and games for indoor activities and a tennis table – perfect for tournaments. Accessories for children are also provided: a cot or high chair. Usually you can find pubs and restaurants nearby, but the cottages are fully equipped with home appliances if you want to have a home-cooked meal and dine al fresco on the decked area at the rear courtyard.

At the end of your holiday, the numbers will add up and you would have managed to get a cheap holiday and have great fun at the same time.
