Easyjet, expensive is the new cheap

After a little digging (ok, after a lot of digging) I discovered that Easyjet might no longer be the budget airline we always thought about. It has always been the case that Easyjet did not offer cheap flights prices if you booked 1-2 weeks before. You had to plan ahead. However these days do not take anything for granted.
Having checked prices for a number of airlines covering the winter December holidays on a flight from LON (London all airports) to SKG (Thessaloniki Makedonia Airport) I discovered the bitter truth. In some cases Easyjet was more expensive than BA!!!
Can you believe that mate?
In all cases, despite Easyjet operating a direct flight to SKG from LGW versus other airlines having 1 stop in between, it is difficult to justify the ‘budget airline’ tag when your price is at least £100 more expensive. And then it is much more difficult to explain not serving food or free drinks, non reclining seats, no allocated seat numbers and extra charges for luggage…
