Travelling Cheap

The crafty traveller knows that right now is the time to go after vacations at the bigger resorts of the world.  With the global credit crunch having resulted in a generally large downturn in travel around the world, the largest global resorts in the world are offering outrageously cheap packages to people that are interested in braving the recession and spending some of their money to travel.  A good example of this is the Vila Baia seaside resort which is located in Portugal (fly to Faro, Portugal, with £141 return ticket).

Portugal is on the Atlantic Coast of the European continent and for that reason is ideal as a seaside resort home.  There are many excellent ones located along the Atlantic Coast of the country and since it has also been blessed with many fantastic beaches it is also a great country to travel to even if you are not that interested in actually staying at a fancy seaside resort.  The Vila Baia resort for example is located about 400 metres away from a place known as Sao Juliao Beach.  You may not have heard the name before but if you crack open a tour book of Portugal and flip over to the beaches section you will not be able to miss it.  It is one of the most famous beaches in all of Europe and one of the highest quality beaches as well.

Vila Baia is mostly a seaside beach tourist resort, but it also is home to a nature reserve and many excellent amenities that you can enjoy in between time spent swimming, surfing or tanning on the beach.
