Java Island has a high population and it is probably the most developed island of Indonesia. The island is subdivided into 3 provinces which are named Central Java, East Java and West Java.

Java Island has busy streets but it also brags of its beautiful countryside and many tourist attractions. When you’re here, make sure you go to Bandung. Bandung is the capital of West Java and it’s known to be the Paris. Borobudur is another great tourist attraction and it is found on top of a hill. It’s a monument for Buddhists and it’s been a place of worship for over a thousand years.

Another place for worship is the Prambanan. It’s a temple complex is the most beautiful temple to be found in Indonesia. It’s a Hindu temple, contrary to that of Borobudur which is Buddhist.

Aside from the historical and ancient monuments in the Java Island, you can also enjoy its more modern beauty. Shopping is one of the highlights here and when you’re in Yogyakarta, you’re in for a lot of shopping fun! There are lots of items here that you can buy as souvenirs with batik cloths and other garments as well as with their traditional jewelleries that you can bring home and brag about with your friends.

There are lots of things to buy and so many awesome places to go in Java Island but make sure you’re ready for the heavy traffic ahead. It’s a typical high-populated city so it’s not an escape route from that heavy traffic. The cheapest way to travel around the country is by train.
