Santorini is made up of Thira (which is its main island) and 4 other islands that surrounds it and they are called Thirasia, Aspronisi and 2 islands are volcanic and are called Palea Kameni and Nea Kameni.

Santorini had become famous because there is suspected to be a connection between the Atlantis and Thira. Atlantis is a mythical island that is said to have disappeared and sunk into the sea. It’s a very rich island and whenever we see a portrayal of Atlantis it’s always like paradise. Through scientific findings, the mythical island does not seem all too mythical  and they say it is somewhat connected to Santorini. Also, if you have read the 20,000 leagues under the sea book you must have read about Santorini as well.

Aside from its popularity being this mysterious island, the island itself brags of its amazing view, archeological museums, beaches, rock villages and so much more. Vothonas for instance is a small rock village that is architecturally unique and strange in its own right. You can only find these types of houses here and many come by just to see this amazing architecture.

Santorini is mostly visited by artists because they get a lot of amazing inspirations here. Painters come here to paint their beautiful sceneries, houses and beaches and they come here every year.

If you choose to visit Santorini, brace yourself for a strange yet somewhat familiar atmosphere. Enjoy swimming at their beautiful beaches in Kamari, Red Beach and Kouloumbo beaches or travel around the islands.
