For a relatively warm destination all year round include Antalya on your holiday agenda since the average high temperature in November-December is 16-21 degrees Celsius. It is not hot, but it is a decent temperature (thinking that in other parts you freeze with temperatures below 0).
Antalya offers you both sea and mountains and you can grab some very good deals on the internet (prices around £150pp for 7 nights this time of the year).
The transformation of the city began in the 70s but since ancient times Antalya (“Attaleia” in Greek) was considered a “heaven on earth”. Antalya’s port is one of the busiest ports of the Mediterranean. Kaleici is the old centre of Antalya and is a charming place with narrow streets. At lunchtime stop in one of the restaurants you will find along the streets and try the Piyaz (a local dish made of tahini, garlic, boiled beans and walnuts).
During the summer months Antalya has more to offer: film festivals, opera and ballet or music festivals but if you are looking in your pocket, the best deals you can find at the end of autumn. In the end, the choice is yours and you can enjoy Antalya even under your umbrella during the rainy season.
