Bulgarian hostels from EUR 5

Bulgaria is definitely one of the hottest tourist spots in Europe. The country’s tourism department reported a double digit increase in the number of tourists for the past nine months. Despite the fear of economic recession, the country still attracts tourists. According to the government, the tourists have increased by almost 18% compared to last year’s numbers.

Most of the tourists in Bulgaria are coming from other European countries. Greeks, Romanians and Germans have registered the most number of tourists this year. Citizens from Macedonia, Serbia and Great Britain have also shown strong patronization of Bulgaria. The seemingly mysterious Bulgaria coupled with historical sites and beautiful shores have continuously attracted tourists from different parts of Europe.

This has been possible even with the limited budget of the tourism department of Bulgaria. That means the country could have performed well had the tourism department increased in budget to properly advertise Bulgaria. The country is only able to attract tourists from Europe and it should be aggressive to get  worldwide attention.

Aside from the increase in budget, different infrastructures have to be implemented especially in the key cities such as Varna and Bourgas. Although it could accommodate the current tourists, the increase in popularity might place the airports in a very difficult position in handling and securing passengers at the same time.

On the other hand, Union of Bulgarian Tourism Industry or UBTI are now actively talking to individuals that could boost the tourism industry through additional data about the country in terms of history and more interesting places in Bulgaria.
