Slovenia is a small country located in Central Europe. The country’s size however, should never fool you. It’s a land with different types of terrain, great culture and a vibrant economy which has attracted tourists over the years. The best part is that you won’t have to spend hundreds of dollars to enjoy Slovenia.
Getting there
Slovenia is very aggressive in attracting tourists. They have relaxed documentation requirements for tourists. The best way to get inside Slovenia could be taken by train through Austria, Croatia, Prague and Italy. This is the most affordable way to go to country’s center although it might require a good number of hours of travelling.
Ljubljana – the Country’s Capital
You will immediately be surprised by country’s capital, Ljubljana. The capital is very small that you might think it’s just a regular European town. But if there’s any place you need to stay, it’s in this city. Slovenian hotels may not be five-star hotels but it will fit your budget while enjoying local cuisine. Plus Ljubljana is practically at the center of the country so you can use it as your point towards other destinations. You can also find hostels in Slovenia, with prices starting from EUR 7 per person.

Take a train ride from Ljubljana to different cities that offer unique traveling experience. Kranj is only 25kms from the capital and it features Grad Khislstein or Grand Castle and other natural wonders. Celje is another historical city wherein a walking tour is the best way to enjoy the city.

Hotels from 7 Euros is very cheap, had no idea that was possible. Might have to book myself a weekend break to Slovenia this summer.
