Brussels is one of the few cities in Belgium that has it all – a striving business, a beautiful architecture and the exotic feel that can only be experienced in this city. It’s no wonder that Brussels is also one of the most expensive cities in the country. But that doesn’t mean you can just give in to the prices they ask. There are actually a few tricks that you can consider doing if you want to save money while traveling in Brussels. These money saving ideas are actually not difficult to find in Brussels so you can get away from the spending spree.
The most expensive part in Brussels is accommodation but Treavelling Cheap has found for you hostels from EUR19. Actually the trick is not to go directly to Brussels but to go out a few miles from the center of the city and settle in a town (accommodation prices in other towns start from EUR 14).
The rate is way lower than the city and you can easily grab a cab or a bus to enjoy Brussels. If you don’t even want to spend a single cent on transportation, you can rent a bike and move around Brussels freely.
Food is also a little bit challenging in Brussels. Stay away from large restaurants as the fancy they get, the more expensive they become. Luckily, there are nearby small restaurants within the same streets of Brussels that you can consider. The quality of the food is the same while the prices are a lot better. Don’t forget to grab a beer in Brussels as they are thought to be one of the cheapest in the world. But don’t drink until you forget where your hostel was exactly.
