The Dingle Peninsula is a part of Ireland that was kept unchanged for many years. The traditional ways and even the Gaelic language are still observed in this part of the country. Visit any pub and you’ll enjoy traditional songs by the locals who are there after a day’s work at sea.
The center of the peninsula is the Dingle Town. The town could be very refreshing for tourists since it doesn’t enforce itself to be enjoyed – you’ll see structures everywhere that are worthy to be visited. Even the lifestyle of the locals who still clings to traditional farming and fishing will surely enchant any tourists.
It’s highly recommended to rent a car to enjoy the peninsula. After enjoying Dingle Town, proceed to Mount Brandon which is the second tallest mountain in Ireland.
Along the way, you’ll surely notice sheep everywhere. Remember to bring proper clothing for the cold and damp weather which could be observed the whole year.
The interesting fact about the Dingle Peninsula is that the place is literally filled with historic structures. The town is scattered with structures from the Middle Ages as the place became the home for monks who tried to run away from persecution in Europe.
The fields are practically untouched since the late 1800s. The government has taken extra caution not to touch the land as they would like to preserve them for tourists and future generations. But more importantly, the friendly and lively atmosphere of the Dingle Peninsula would hopefully be preserved for ages.
