Free UK transport during Christmas

Holiday transportation in UK can be a harrowing experience because of the possible heavy traffic. Since everyone wants to go out and buy gifts for their friends and family, the numbers of cars increase during these days. This is especially true in major cities in UK as holiday shoppers go out and buy presents before Christmas Eve.

To curtain possible heavy traffic during the holiday season, the public transport in UK is offering free transportation. United Kingdom is already offering free transportation nationwide but it’s only limited to the disabled and the elderly during the off-peak times. But the free transportation during the holidays is no longer limited to the disabled and elderly but for everyone.

Specifically, transportation will be free in UK from 11:45 in the evening on December 31 until normal train times (before 5:00 AM). The London Underground Train, the tram, tube and busses will provide their services for free during these times.

There’s also good news for Christmas shoppers who do not want to take the free public transportation. There’s no congestion charge from Christmas Day to New Year. If you are constantly on the road during the Holiday Season, you will save a lot on congestion charges.

Aside from the holiday season, car owners and traveller can also enjoy their day without having to pay for congestion charge during the weekends and official holidays. Free public transportation is also available for everyone on select holidays without any charge as long as they travel within the city. Free transportation is a very useful program since it helps shoppers purchase the items they want without spending too much on transportation.
