Travelling Cheap

Well how about that for a quick and cheap holiday? I just discovered Canarios Park Hotel and I must say, I am really rolling the idea of a quick break over in my head. It’s only been 3 days since I got back from 10 days of (financially viable) mayhem, but this offer has me checking my bank account. And even though I’m down to 3 figures I am seriously considering it.

First of all I look at the price. Indicatively, if I were to leave next week with my girlfriend for 7 nights on an all inclusive holiday, it would cost us £340. That’s approximately £25 a piece per night. If you consider that that’s all inclusive, so we wouldn’t have to pay for food or drink, it’s actually cheaper than staying in London.

Other factors that have won me over as regards to this hotel are the fact that it has a pool and it is only 400m from the beach. You can check to see exactly how close it is on the hotel’s website, by using their funky satellite image so you can explore the island from above. If the distance is too much for you there is a free train service to the beach as well as to the tourist centre, 1.5km away, not too far to walk but not close enough to keep you up all night.

Rooms are clean and sunny and they even provide a cot, free of charge, if you have a little one you want to take along. You can have some moments of peace and quiet while the kids are playing in the kids club. There is also Internet access at the hotel, so maybe the next post you read from me will be from my balcony on the 6th floor with an ocean view.
