Thassos, the unexploited treasure island

Just off the northern coast of Greece, near the city of Kavala, is Thassos, a small island with all the magic one can find anywhere in Greece. Holidays in Thassos are abrim with variation, all the different plant life of the mainland competing with the harsher island herbs, under the eye of Mt. Ipsaron, everything surrounded by sandy beaches.
Thankfully, the locals still do not receive tens of thousands of tourists a year, and are still quite friendly, always wanting to make your Thassos holidays an experience to be rememberd. Many of the islands in Greece have been overrun by tourists. A fact that contributes to the prices staying much lower in Thassos than most of the islands in Greece, without detracting from a quality fun holiday.

The island’s west coast is far more chilled out, and is mostly for lying about while the east coast has a more dramatic landscape. The island’s two main beaches are Golden Beach and Paradiso. Nightlife here is mostly relaxed, your options being tavernas, restaurants and cafes, although there are some nightclubs in the resorts and in Thassos Town, but this is more a destination to let the stress slowly drip off your body while you relax on the beach or at a bar.
